HAPPY BIRTHDAY TYLER!!

I can't believe that Tyler is ONE YEAR OLD! His big day was on Friday and, for the most part, it was a great celebration. As expected he downright refused his cake and got pretty upset with me trying to stick some frosting in his mouth. So after making a complete mess of both of us, I stopped the torture and gave him a quick bath while the party attendees enjoyed their part of the cake. After Tyler got cleaned up, we helped him open his presents. It was a bit of a task to keep him focused, but that's all part of the fun! He seemed to enjoy the fun and we all certainly enjoyed the entertainment!

Here is a link to a Shutterfly album for all the pictures. Enjoy!!

'Tis the Season

I just love Christmas. It's so fun to have everything looking so bright and cheerful. And since we live in Florida, it's fun to pretend that we live in a winter wonderland; even if in reality, we're wearing shorts, t-shirts, and flip-flops while we put up the Christmas decorations! I think we're finally done decorating our house. This will be the second Christmas in this house and it's been fun thinking of new things to use. Last year we bought a new tree (artificial) and I just love it!
It's so big and full and all the ornaments look great on it. Since we have 9-foot ceilings, we bought a 7.5-foot tree and it's perfect. This year, I was able to set up my snow village that I've had for years. I haven't really had a good place to set it all on, but we figured out a great spot for it this year.
It was so fun getting it all set up. Also, this year is our first year to have outside lights on. Our street is off of a really long street with lots of houses that put up lights and last year as we came home every night, Megan would beg her dad to have lights on our house, too. So, he promised that this would be the year. It's not a lot, but Megan seems quite pleased.
