HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

We wish you all the very best day and hope you enjoy yourself no matter who you're with or what you're doing. I hope you took a moment to really think about all the blessings that God has poured out and truly thanked HIM for them.

We are in East Georgia (Swainsboro) at my mom and dad's house. We arrived Wednesday night and mom was already busy preparing for the feast. We had Turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry salad, pineapple salad, sweet potatoe casserole, and pumpkin and pecan pies. YUMMY!! My grandparents and Aunt and Uncle came over to mom and dad's house and it was a really nice dinner. Afterward we went outside and let Megan play in the leaves. She's been begging to make a big pile of leaves and jump in them, so we finally made it. She had a blast! Mom and dad have 5 huge pecan trees in their yard and the pecans are falling, so all the grown ups were digging through the leaves and collecting pecans. We filled two big buckets! Dad has an old John Deere tractor in their backyard (it's actually my uncle Ross' and dad's holding it here for him) and Megan wanted to sit up in it, so we got David up there and Megan was having fun sitting with daddy. Soon, Tyler got into the action and all three were having a blast. Megan wanted to drive it, but it's not in running order. But, uncle Ross has several tractors at his place, so we all loaded up and headed over there. He gave Dave the quick "how-to" and soon he and Megan were cruising the land. At first, Megan wasn't too sure about it because it was loud, but soon she settled in and was smiling big. Tyler, again, had to get in on the action, so David took him for a spin, too. It was great to see them ALL having such fun.

What a fun day!

Tigerlily

Megan's Thanksgiving Program for school was Thursday night. The kids could choose if they wanted to be a Pilgrim or Indian. Of course, we went with the natural choice. Megan wanted to be "Tigerlily" from the movie Peter Pan. With the gracious help of my family in New Mexico, Megan was a beautiful Indian Princess. She was so proud of her costume and was happy to pose and show it off to everyone! She had a speaking line in the program with Gideon and they were of course the best ones up there!

Here's a little bit of one of the songs, too.

Here are pictures of Megan and Gideon after the program. Won't these be great for the Rehearsal Dinner slide show at their wedding??!!

Happy Birthday Megan!

On Friday Megan turned 6 years old! She's grown up so quick and is such a joy. We're so proud of her.

David and I went to her school at 11:30 on Friday and listened in as she did "show and tell" in her class. She showed them her pictures from Disney World and told them about all of the great things we did. All the kids were amazed - it was so cute! We ate lunch with her and her class and watched them all play on the playground. They were having a blast! We brought cupcakes for her birthday and passed them around for all the kids. They all loved them! We also brought treat bags for her classmates and Megan handed them out. All the kids were so excited. We called it an early day for school (with her teacher's permission) and headed to Destin for the afternoon. We shopped and played and watched the HUGE tree at the Commons get lit up by Santa. It was so pretty. Then we headed home and let Megan open her presents. She loved all the gifts and was ready to watch one of her new videos. So, we watched Dora save the Mermaids and then crashed for the night.

On Saturday, we had her Birthday Party. All of her friends came around 2pm and the kids had a blast playing outside. They took a break for cake and ice cream, then took their turns with the pinata. Everyone filled their bags with all the goodies! After that, we watched Megan open her presents. She has such great friends and got lots of really nice presents. She loves them all!

I think she had an awesome birthday (I hope she did, anyway). I still can't believe she's SIX already!
Here's a link to a Shutterfly Album with all the pictures from the weekend. Enjoy!

Trip to remember

Wednesday and Thursday were very eventful days at Disney. We went to Epcot on Wednesday and saw Aladdin and Belle (again). We also went on a neat ride called "The Seas with Nemo and Friends." It was real fun and Megan enjoyed it. After that we headed to "Turtle Talk with Crush" where the kids could talk to Crush. It was so cool! There was a big Aquarium there with dolphins, manatees, stingrays, and lots of other fish. It was real neat. Later that afternoon, we headed off to MGM Studios and walked around there a bit. We didn't realize how early that park closed so we didn't get to do a whole lot there, but we did get to catch a "Little Mermaid" show so the trip was not a total loss.

On Thursday, we spent the whole day at Animal Kingdom. It was very cool. We went on a Safari that lasted two weeks, but felt like 20 minutes. We got to ride on a cool truck and see lots of great animals. We walked around the Tree of Life and tried to see how many different animals we could count that were carved into it. We quickly learned though that there were way too many to count! We also got to watch a Pocahontas show and ride a train to the Petting Zoo.
Megan had lots of fun brushing the animals and checking them all out.

Needless to say, this was a trip to remember. The thrill of watching Megan's face as her biggest dream came true was just beyond description. She had a great time, but she was ready to come home. On Thursday night on our way back to the hotel she told me that she was ready to go back to school and see her teacher. I assured her that her teacher was probably ready for her to be back, too.

I've uploaded all of our pictures into Shutterfly. Here is a link to the album if you would like to look at all of them. After you click on the "view pictures" button, when the pictures come, look above the top row and you should see "Select: all none." If you'll click "all" then all the pictures should have a check mark below them. Then on the right click on the "view as a slideshow" link and you can just let it scroll through them all.
